Carol Batchelor

Cafeteria Manager

Carol Batchelor is the Mabry Food & Nutrition Manager.  Carol and her family moved from South Africa to the United States in 1998.   She was a computer programmer for De Beers Diamond Mines until she decided to start a family and become a stay-at-home mom.  Carol and her husband, Kenny, whom she married in 1982, have two boys, Byron and Brent. Carol started her Food Service career at Daniel Middle School in 2008, then transferred to Dodgen Middle School in 2012.  She completed the Cobb County Management Training & Food Safety courses in 2014. Carol’s hobbies include music, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking, tennis and travel.

Liz Doerr

Front Office Clerk

Liz Doerr has always been involved in education in some way. Graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Geography, she then became certified to teach and taught at an outdoor residential program for troubled teens in Florida. She and her husband, Jeff, spent about 5 years as foster parents for troubled teenage boys. She then became a stay-at-home mother to two children and an active volunteer in the elementary and middle schools, following her children. After landing in the Cobb County area in 2011, Mrs. Doerr enjoyed volunteering at Mabry so much that she is now employed in the front office as a clerk.



Amy Hinsley

Counselor

Amy Hinsley is the school counselor for 8th grade students and also serves as the 7th grade school counselor for students with the last names N to Z.  Mrs. Hinsley is Native American and grew up in Northern Michigan, where she is a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indian tribe.  She moved to Georgia to pursue a career in education.  Mrs. Hinsley received her Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel and Textile design from Michigan State University and earned her Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Georgia State University.  She has 14 years of experience in education as a teacher, school counselor, and academic advisor in higher education at Georgia Tech.  She is excited to join the Mabry family this year!

Anna Marshall

Speech-Language Pathologist

Ms. Marshall is Mabry’s Speech-Language Pathologist.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History Teaching, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and a Master of Sciences in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Ms. Marshall will be completing her clinical fellowship at Mabry while working towards her Certificate of Clinical Competency through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Ms. Marshall has experiences teaching high school, tutoring ESOL students, and providing speech-language therapy.  She has worked with various populations, toddler through adult.  Her passions in Speech and Language include articulation therapy, social skills therapy, and language therapy.  Ms. Marshall lives with her family in East Cobb and enjoys walking near the river, getting together with friends, and cheering on her children in their various activities.  This is her first year at Mabry, and she is excited to become part of the community. 



Anita Norton

Media Specialist

Mrs. Norton is a mom of three kids who went to Rocky Mount Elementary, Simpson Middle, and Lassiter High School.  All three of these kiddos have flown the nest and are in college at KSU.  Mrs. Norton received her Undergraduate and Master’s Degree from North Texas University.  She has been a Media Specialist for 10 years.  This is her third year in Cobb County. She says she has the best job in the building!  She loves middle schoolers, reading, researching, and creativity.  Mrs. Norton's super-power is being able to find the right book for the right student!  



Lauren Oden

Counselor

Lauren Oden is the school counselor for 6th grade students and also serves as the 7th grade school counselor for students with the last names A to M. Ms. Oden earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Family Science from Samford University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She holds a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of Montevallo. Ms. Oden also maintains the designation of National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. She has worked as a school counselor in many East Cobb schools and is passionate about helping students succeed during their transition to middle school. Ms. Oden is a K-12 graduate of Cobb County Schools and is proud to be a member of the Mabry family!





Cyndi Walsh

Media Center Paraprofessional

Cyndi Walsh has over fifteen years experience in education.  She has a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Sociology from the University of Arizona and is a graduate of the Arizona State University College of Law.  At Texas Christian University, she progressed from Program Coordinator for Inclusiveness & Intercultural Services, to Director of the TCU Leadership Center, and eventually to Associate Dean of Student Development where she oversaw six different departments.  In 2013, Cyndi relocated from Texas to Georgia.  She became a stay at home parent and has remained active and engaged in various non-profits and schools including the media center at Mabry, where she is now employed as a paraprofessional.
