Student Organizations & Extra-Curricular Activities

Wheeler Clubs and Organizations

There are over sixty student organizations at Wheeler High School including athletic, arts, service, honorary, social, and other activities. Studies have shown that students who get involved in extra-curricular and/or co-curricular activities are more likely to be successful in school than those who do not. Clubs and organizations typically meet either before or after school according to seasonal needs and restrictions.

How do I find out about an activity at Wheeler?

Activities are publicized at school by announcements and displays around the building. Be active about finding out what's going on -- ask classmates, teachers, administrators, or guidance counselors for information. If you see a club on these pages that you are interested in, email the teacher sponsor by clicking on their name and find out more info.

Who is Eligible to Participate?

Cobb County Schools have regulations regarding who is eligible to participate in extracurricular activities based on grades and behavior. Check the Wheeler Student Handbook (distributed to every student in the Student Planner) or the Cobb County Schools' website, www.cobbk12.org, for full details.

All clubs at Wheeler must have administrative approval and a faculty sponsor.

Remember that sponsors, meeting times, costs, membership requirements are all subject to change. Email the teacher sponsor by clicking on their name or ask at the school office for more info.
