Advanced Placement courses are college level courses taught in high schools throughout the country. The College Board establishes curriculum content, and students have the opportunity to take a year-end exam which may qualify them for college credit. Sprayberry High School offers 27 different AP courses in the areas of Fine Arts, English, Mathematics, Science, Career / Technology, Foreign Language, and Social Studies.

Approximately 30% of Students take at least one AP course at SHS, and almost 60% of students who take an AP exam at Sprayberry end up earning a score of THREE (3) or Higher on the Exam (this EXCEEDS the state average).

The Georgia Department of Education has consistently recognized Sprayberry as an AP Honors School in the following categories:

AP STEM: Schools with students testing in at least two (2) AP math courses and two (2) AP science courses (2012 - PRESENT)

AP STEM ACHIEVEMENT: Schools with students testing in at least 2 AP math courses and 2 AP science courses and at least 40% of the exam scores on AP math and AP science exams earning scores of three (3) or higher (2012 - PRESENT)

AP MERIT: Schools with at least 20% of the student population taking AP exams and at least 50% of all AP exams earning scores of three (3) or higher (2012 - PRESENT)

AP HUMANITIES: Schools with students testing in all of the following AP courses: at least one ELA course, two social sciences courses, one fine arts course and one world language course. Schools with at least 20% of the student population taking AP exams and at least 50% of all AP exams earning scores of three (3) or higher. (This award was first introduced in 2015, and Sprayberry has been recognized all years that it has been awarded.)

Receiving Test Scores
Advanced Placement (AP) test scores can only be accessed online. Students may setup a College Board Account to view their test scores in mid July.  If students have taken the SAT and have a College Board account, the new account is not necessary.
