Osborne High School’s Visual Arts program is an engaging and academic curriculum, guided by the standards for Cobb County Schools and the State of Georgia. Students are able to pursue many areas of interest, beginning with Visual Arts Comprehensive. From there students may choose to enroll in media-specific classes like Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramics, and Jewelry-making. Dedicated students interested in pursuing Visual Arts at the collegiate level can enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses for Drawing, 2D, or 3D with permission. Fine Arts pathways are available for students completing 3 consecutive classes with a B or above. Students completing a pathway with an A or above are eligible for a Visual Arts cord at graduation. For those who earn a cord, diploma seals for Fine Arts are available with the additional requirements of community service and a “capstone” presentation at our art show in the spring. There are several scholarship opportunities for outstanding students in Visual Arts. Osborne High School also has a chapter of the National Art Honor Society. To read about requirements for NAHS, please read here.

The Visual Arts teachers at Osborne High School bring unique talents and experiences to our program. Most teachers are working artists in addition to being educators. This team of teachers is dedicated to providing Osborne students with the most comprehensive and professional level of education in the arts. Our new state-of-the-art building provides an excellent setting for this instruction, with lots of room to work both in and outside the building, plenty of natural light, brand new equipment, and many areas to display our work.

Students wishing to extend their participation in the visual arts have the option to join  Art Club. We meet every Wednesday after school in room 110.  Email or see Mrs. Fulp for a schedule.

If you would like to see some of the work produced by OHS students, please visit our virtual art show for the 2020-21 school year: https://ohsfineartsshowcase.weebly.com/
