Cobb County students have the opportunity to participate on the Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI). Dual Language Immersion is a way to learn academic content while acquiring another language at the same time. The goals of the program are for the students to develop literacy skills in both English and the target language while attaining a high level of academic achievement that is at or above their grade level in all content areas and to develop a world cultural sensitivity. Fair Oaks chose Spanish as the immersion language for the upcoming school year.

The electronic translation service is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
