TMW - sponsored by Nancy Parsons and Nora Sanders

TMW (Tiger Morning Wake-Up) is a student-run school news program. In the broadcast lab, students learn how to use audio-visual equipment, speak to an audience, and produce a live news show. Our crew visits WSB-TV to learn about STEM careers in broadcasting. TMW students lead, problem-solve, and collaborate while having a blast!

Reading Club - sponsored by Laura Shaw

Davis Elementary 4th and 5th grade students read books from the Georgia Book Award Winners list. At our club meetings, students discuss the books, write and answer questions, and practice competing against their peers. Students will then compete against other Cobb County Schools at the Cobb Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Competition.

Heroes - sponsored by Kathy Bernier and Alison Plomaritis

Heroes are fifth graders who mentor, encourage, and assist younger students in their academic studies. Recognized for their compassion and responsible nature, they volunteer their time to help in kindergarten through second grade classrooms.

T.I.G.E.R. Club - sponsored by Kathy Bernier and Alison Plomaritis

The T.I.G.E.R. Club, whose initials stand for “Together in Giving Excellent Resources” is a service organization for peer selected third graders who are available after school for project work. These compassionate students promote and help conduct service projects throughout the year.

Welcome Coaches - sponsored by Kathy Bernier and Alison Plomaritis

Welcome Coaches are students who help welcome new students, particularly those who enroll in Davis after the school year has started. These students are from second through fifth grades and act as friendly and knowledgeable “buddies” to assist new students transitioning into a new school.

Youth Leaders - sponsored by Kathy Bernier and Alison Plomaritis

Youth Leaders are fourth and fifth grade representatives who give input on the status of our school climate and ways to improve it in order to meet our goal of creating “A Place for Peace” environment at Davis. They also provide assistance and help promote our school’s service and community outreach projects.

Davis Honors Math Club - sponsored by Dr. Beth Knight

This is a 4th and 5th grade group that commits to working hard, being diligent, and persevering through tough tasks. They do challenging math problems, collaborate, and stretch their brains. They believe that if you aren't able to figure something out YET, it doesn't mean you won't, if you just stick to it. Believe in the power of YET!

Chorus - sponsored by Paige Dobbins

The Davis Chorus is made up of fourth and fifth grade students. They rehearse once a week at Davis. They perform annually for the Braves and Hawks games, live on Fox 5 News in conjunction with Toys for a Tots, as well as at Piedmont Winterfest and many other performance opportunities. 

Girls Run the World Club! - sponsored by Katie Gaddy

Girls Run the World Club is a club for 4th and 5th grade girls. The club mission is to inspire young girls to become leaders and value healthy lifestyles. Throughout the year the girls learn leadership and healthy lifestyle lessons while participating in a variety of physical activities. In addition, the girls are encouraged to become healthy ambassadors throughout the community by hosting parent/daughter fun runs and participating in community 5ks. Girls Run the World fosters leaders of the future.
