Supporting My Online Student

Online learning is no different than other types of schooling; parents are vitally important to student academic success. No matter the school format, the interaction and support of family is necessary for achievement, encouragement, and accountability.

Parent(s) should consult with the student’s guidance counselor to determine if an online course is a good alternative to traditional learning.

Parents should assist the student by encouraging active participation in the course, completing assignments in a timely manner, and monitoring progress.

When a student registers for a CVA class, directions will be shared on how to access a Parent Observer Account. If you have any questions about how to access the Observer account, please contact us at cobbvirtualacademy@cobbk12.org

Cobb Virtual Academy invites parents to join in student learning and encourages parents to communicate with course instructors. Online courses require students to work independently. You can help them in staying focused and motivated by monitoring their progress regularly in their online course.
